So Sad

Yes, I'm talking about this little blogging adventure my sister and I began months ago.   I really do think about it all of the time and I really did do the last challenge months ago.  But then life happened and the Christmas rush began and well...I am just a total blog slacker.  Ugh!  So to make up for it and to clear my conscience about this, I thought I'd add my list of 100 things now even though I wrote it back in September and it is now December (we won't mention the fact that it's almost January, now will we?).  So here it goes...100 things I was thankful for back at the end of September in no particular order:

honesty, forgiveness, my mom, my daughters, my husband, my sister, Luke, Makalyn, patience, nectarines and cream, knitting, creativity, my camera, fall, pandora, music, good books, journalling, my scriptures, faith, my parents, Jamie, Dana, Tammy, Gayle, Rick, Kristan, Keeli, Chris, Erin, Stacey, our military, freedom, hot bread, fresh fruit, orange leaves, spider webs on misty mornings, sleeping in, afternoon naps, the library, rain, sunshine, Kootenai Falls, dancing, old books, Christ, love, possibilities, fresh starts, Donna, mountains, clean houses, pine sol, 409, theraflu, rainbows, lightning, thunder, the American flag, family, video tutorials, laughter, tears, growth, dew, cream cheese, internet, photos, hot chocolate, whip cream, hot caramel apple cider, toothpaste, story time, chocolate, slip on shoes, bare feet, cool rocks, nifty containers, motivation, smiles, sign language "I love you", water, Grandma O, the Tiesens, phone calls, vanilla ice cream, So You Think You Can Dance, music videos, GAC, yard sales, thrift shops, Etsy, books, tupperware, spray paint, pencils, scotch scrubbers, peanut butter, refried beans, tootsie rolls

Whew!  That was easy!  No why I put it off is beyond me....let's hope my sister gets her list posted and a new challenge for us as well.  Maybe we'll get this blog rolling again.

Challenge 2 - 100 Things

Ok...this requires no heavy lifting or body alterations.  I have been having a kind of slump week.  I haven't journaled.  I haven't kept track of what I eat.  I haven't studied my scriptures.  I have been in a bad mood.  Yeah, it's been that kind of week.  This week I need to get back on track and get my head straight again.  So my challenge is for each of us to list 100 things we are thankful for.  Any order, any thing, any person, any moment.  Simply list 100 things by the end of this week.

The hair part 2

So I think that I had more guts than my hairstylist because I really wanted to go shorter than she did.... I told her to take about 2 inches off but it was more of a nick of the ends.  Anyways here it goes....
Before... as you can tell I really needed a haircut, it was pretty scary...
She did make it look better but I think that next time I am going to have to go quite a bit shorter!.... Here is the after.....
Maybe someday the two of us will get more daring in these challenges!

The Hair

Hmmmm, so this challenge was a bit of a stretch for me because I have been trying to grow my hair out.  However, my stylist knew just what I needed and hooked me up today with a great new cut.  I joked on my blog about having this hair:

Which, by the way, I would totally do if I was 20 years younger and had hair like that!  LOL!  TOTALLY!

But since I don't have hair like that...here are my before and after pics:
Before:
Yeah, I know...pretty sad but since it was a before, I thought no makeup and no frou frou hair would be perfect.  Ha!
And the After:

I can't wait to see Brenda's hair!

Here it goes...

So tonight I was talking to my sister on the phone... one of my favorite past times, and in our conversation I learned that we are both scheduled to get our haircut tomorrow (Kind of freaky how intune we are with each other, also rather awesome!).  So the first challenge... which is easy because she told me to take it easy on her... is to get a haircut and try something new... cut your bangs different, change the shape, just nick the ends and grow it out... something... anything... can't wait to see the pictures!

Here We Are

So I was sitting here thinking one day that it sure would be nice if my mom and my sister lived closer so that we could encourage/force each other to do things to better our lives.  I was thinking about how nice it would be if I knew my mom or my sister were coming over to see what I had done so that I was really motivated to do what I said I was going to do.  LOL!  I also thought about how nice it would be to soak up some of their ideas as well and apply them to my life.

Then it hit me.  Why couldn't we be accountable to each other in an interactive way?  Why couldn't we just send pics to each other and show off what we'd accomplished.  Why couldn't we set goals together and have fun together even though we're 7 hours apart?  And what better way to do that than in a blog?  So I called them up and my sister was in but my mom is still thinking about it.  I'm okay with that.  I know that technology is scary sometimes.  LOL!

So here we are...ready to get going.  Each week one of us will give the three of us a challenge (well, 3 if mom decides to join us...which I hope she does.) and within a week we'll post here about what we did to fulfill that challenge.

We hope you'll have as much fun reading about our challenges and that you'll join in if you like.  It's going to be fun!

And since I'm the big sister and I wrote the intro, I'm making my little sister post the first challenge.  I can't wait to see what it is and I hope she takes it easy on us.  LOL!
